for Hernando County School Board

As a Hernando County Commissioner, I have always believed that our community deserves leaders who put students first, spend taxpayer dollars wisely, and stand firmly for the values that matter most to our families. That is why I am proud to endorse Mark Johnson for reelection to the Hernando County School Board.

During his time on the School Board, Mark has demonstrated a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility. He understands that every tax dollar should be spent carefully and with the primary goal of improving educational opportunities for our students while respecting the taxpayers who fund our schools.

Mark has also been a consistent advocate for students. He has supported policies and procedures designed to keep our children safe while at school, recognizing that a secure learning environment is essential for student success.

He has also stood for protecting fairness in school athletics by supporting policies that keep boys out of girls’ sports. Parents deserve to know their concerns are being heard, and Mark has shown he is willing to stand up for those principles.

Just as importantly, Mark understands the vital role our teachers play in educating the next generation. He has supported our educators because attracting and retaining outstanding teachers is essential to providing the best possible education for every student.

Leadership is about making thoughtful decisions, protecting our children, supporting our educators, and being a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars. Mark Johnson has demonstrated those qualities throughout his service.

I am proud to call Mark Johnson my friend and I am glad to see him offering his great, skills to School Board Member.

His trailblazing building trade educational program helps veterans and at-risk youths while providing a skilled job entry level for those who might otherwise be unemployable. Without question, he supports veterans' organizations and the patriotic morals and standards of this great country.

He understands sound current economics while having a realistic vision for future development. Mark is a hands-on leader whose programs have proven results and innovation. His teams accomplish goals by being flexible and innovative. I feel he knows reality for today and vision for tomorrow.

I am proud to call Mark Johnson my friend as you should be.

To Whom It May Concern (Hernando County Voters)

With our recent onslaught of rising property taxes, news of fiscal mismanagement by the County Board, incompatible land uses and inevitable sprawling growth; it is heartening to know that there is a candidate for the Board of Commissioners that has Hernando County resident interests in mind.

Mark Johnson has stood for prudent oversight of our tax dollars, controlled and managed growth, a strong education system for county children, and passing the costs of development and growth to those that are creating additional burdens on our infrastructure.

As a former school board member and director of T-Volt; a program for introducing our young people to the building trades; he has, and is, working to promote job creation and sustainable careers for those kids who are not college-bound.
I believe that Mark Johnson would be a great choice for the Hernando County Board of Commissioners, for now, and for the future of this beautiful county.
